Paris Loves Lovers As an antique show promoter for the Alameda Point Antiques Faire and Producer of the Alameda Point Vintage Fashion Faire, I often hear from our customers who comment on my vintage attire, “I love vintage clothes but I’m not small like you” or “I can’t find vintage clothing in my size.” As a vintage collector, I may be a small size but I have curves and am not a stick figure, which is perfect for retro pinup clothing. While it’s true that vintage clothing is plentiful in small sizes, I find many stylish options for curvy women. After all, Marilyn Monroe was not a size zero.
Whose vintage style would you like to emulate? There are a bevy of buxom beauties to choose from, from Mae West to Sophia Loren. Just because you’re curvy doesn’t mean you have to limit your vintage fashion reference to Mad Men, although that show has done wonders for full figure worship and our Mad Men costume contest at the Vintage Fashion Faire proved that. We had all sizes and shapes and the judges had a hard time deciding who to award the first prize to.

this is very true its not impossible to find larger sizes, my friends are all curvy and i find them beautiful stuff all the time its just harder to find a good deal
Good point, Jonathan. All of these beautiful, rare dresses at Michaan’s Auctions sold yesterday for around $100 which is lower priced than most generic evening dresses at your local mall and most dresses had a 30 inch waist or larger.
